After Care Instructions:

congratulations on your new tattoo!
please read the following directions thoroughly.

You will need to following items to properly take care of your tattoo, you can find them at any local grocery or pharmacy store:

*Dial unscented anti-bacterial liquid hand soap (this can be a generic brand however; it does still need to be UNSCENTED AND ANTI-BACTERIAL)
*Unscented lotion, i really like aveno or any other generic oatmeal lotion. do not use lubriderm brand lotion, i've had lots of people with adverse reactions to some of their ingedients. OR auqua 4 cream.
(Any thing you put on your tattoo with a scent/fragrence will cause redness and discomfort!!)

Day of tattoo:
in 1-2 hours after the tattoo is complete, remove your bandage. wash hads thoroughly with dial soap. run tattoo under hot water for 15-20 minutes washing tattoo gently and continuously with dial soap during this time. when tattoo is clean it will feel smooth and unlubricated. pat tattoo dry with disposable paper towel. do not apply any ointlents to the tattoo on the first night. do not cover or re-bandage the tattoo. do not wear any restrictive clothing over the tattoo.

Week after tattoo:
Gently wash your tattoo 2 times a day with dial soap. do not soak tattoo, only wash long enough to clean tattoo. apply a very SMALL amout of lotion to tattoo, rub in and gently wipe of excess with a disposable paper towel. always wash your hands before touching tattoo. in the first few days if your tattoo looks puffy and gross stop using lotion and let your skin dry and create a scab. do not pick or scratch your tattoo. in a few days to a week your tattoo will be itchy, flakey and peeling. if it itches use lotion on the drying peeling skin. do not be alarmed if your tattoo looks opaque or filmy after peeling, this is just the new skin growth and it will become transparent once healed.

For the next 2-3 weeks:
Do not soak the tattoo; no bathtubs, hot tubs, swimming pools, lakes, or oceans!!! exposing an unhealed tattoo to open water can destroy your tattoo or give you a bacterial infection. keep your tattoos out of the sun, always use a SPF 30 or higher to protect your tattoo from damaging UV rays and keep your tattoo brighter longer.
